SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Overall responsibility
Lead the end-to-end development of building and office fit-out projects with a heavy emphasis on construction execution (Bauleitung). Beyond design, you will be the team's primary authority on the construction site, responsible for supervising trades, ensuring technical quality, and enriching the internal team with practical site-management knowledge. You will be the eyes and ears on-site, identifying risks and ensuring Swiss building standards are met until final handover.
1. Construction & Architecture
- Technical Design: Collecting and arranging technical data, preparing drawings, plans, and good-for-construction documentation with a focus on fit-out projects within existing buildings
- Permitting & Compliance: Managing compliance with local building codes, zoning regulations, fire safety, and accessibility. Coordinating submissions and revisions with municipal authorities
- Site Supervision (Bauleitung): Monitoring the work of local engineers and providing direct guidance to general contractors or subcontractors. Supervising workers to ensure execution matches layout designs and quality standards
- Team Mentorship: Serving as the internal subject matter expert on construction; teaching the team what to look for on-site and how to navigate the complexities of a live construction environment
- Technical Coordination: Leading the review of MEP, fire protection, and specialist systems. Networking and consulting with industry professionals to ensure seamless integration
- Innovation: Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and staying current with industry technology (e.g., ESG, wood construction)
2. Project Management
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously from concept through maintenance
- Preparing projects' time schedules, budgets and technical documentation
- Supervising bidding process, meeting cost standards by monitoring expenses and implementing cost-saving actions
- Ensuring all issues are addressed in a timely manner, and that project requirements are met
- Ensuring the team works together to achieve set goals and targets
- Willingness and capability to travel 3-4 weeks per year international
3. Real Estate
- Interacting with different departments (Finance, Legal, Facility Management, IT Infrastructure) and various field's professionals
- Preparing documents, reports, presentations and proposals to the CEO
- Participating in developing and maintaining standards and requirements of CornerstoneONE
ORGANIZATIONAL HIERARCHY
- Reports to the Lead Architect
- Line Manager is the CEO
- Working place: Office based in the office of PSI CRO AG with the opportunity of maximum 2 days home office per week. You will be integrated into the PSI team locally as a guest and will be able to take part in individual team events, but your tasks, everyday communication and line functions will be those of CornerstoneONE.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
1. Education
- Master's degree in architecture or engineering (Diploma FH / ETH), MBA or similar is a plus
2. Experience
- Min. 15 years of practice as an architect and project manager with a hands-on understanding of the Swiss construction process
- Proven track record in leading mid-size projects and construction supervision (Bauleitung)
- Deep expertise in the preparation of Good-for-Construction (GFC) drawings and related documentation
- The candidate must have a hands-on understanding of the construction process, not limited to conceptual or design work
- Excellent understanding of construction details, including maintenance of existing buildings
